Whistleblower Policy

MyBudget’s Whistleblower Policy supports people who raise concerns about suspected misconduct involving MyBudget or its related entities. The current policy is version 2.0, last updated 25 November 2025, and is managed by Corporate Governance.

Who can make a report?

Eligible whistleblowers include current and former officers and employees, suppliers and their employees, associates, and relatives, dependants or spouses of those people.

What can be reported?

Reportable matters include suspected misconduct or an improper state of affairs, breaches of law or policy, fraud, theft, bribery, corruption, conflicts of interest, privacy or confidentiality breaches, human-rights concerns, and conduct presenting a danger to the public or financial system.

Client complaints about products or service should use the complaints process. Personal work-related grievances are generally handled through People and Culture unless they also involve qualifying misconduct, legal breaches, danger, retaliation or a request for legal advice about whistleblower protection.

How to make a whistleblower report

Reports can be made to MyBudget’s Whistleblower Program Team at whistleblowing@mybudget.com.au, an authorised internal eligible recipient, an officer or senior leader, or an eligible external recipient identified in the policy. Reports may also be sent by post to the Whistleblower Program Team at PO Box 3433.

Include the nature of the suspected misconduct, relevant people, dates and locations, possible witnesses, and any supporting information. A report can be anonymous and may still qualify for protection, although maintaining a way to communicate can help investigators ask questions and provide updates.

Public-interest and emergency disclosures have strict legal requirements. The policy recommends obtaining independent legal advice before making one.

What happens after a report?

The Whistleblower Program Team assesses the report, the support and protections needed, whether it qualifies for protection, and whether a formal investigation is required. Investigations must follow a fair process, proceed as quickly as circumstances permit, be independent of the people concerned and assess whether the available evidence substantiates the matters reported.

The team provides progress and outcome updates where confidentiality and the reporter’s contact arrangements permit. If an investigation is required, the expected timeframe is provided at the start and changes caused by complexity are communicated.

Protections

The policy describes identity and confidentiality protections, protection from detrimental conduct and threats, possible court compensation and remedies, and protection from civil, criminal and administrative liability in relation to a qualifying disclosure. These protections do not grant immunity for misconduct revealed by the person’s own disclosure.
